DiNovo Wins Parkdale-High Park

8:52pm. DemocraticSPACE has seen enough. We are declaring Cheri DiNovo the winner of Parkdale-High Park By-Election. With more than 50% of the votes counted, Cheri DiNovo led her closest rival, Liberal Sylvia Watson by 40.5% to 33.1%.

FINAL RESULTS (unofficial)
Cheri DiNovo (New Democratic Party) – 11675 (41.0%)
Sylvia Watson (Liberal Party) – 9387 (33.0%)
David Hutcheon (Progressive Conservative Party) – 4921 (17.3%)
Frank de Jong (Green Party) – 1758 (6.2%)
Stan Gryzyma (Family Coalition Party) – 366 (1.3%)
Jim McIntosh (Libertarian Party) – 162 (0.6%)
Silvio Ursomarzo (FP) 111 (0.4%)
John C. Turmel (Independent) – 77 (0.3%)

I’m not happy the NDP won. I’m happy the voters did not reward the Liberal slime campaign.

With that result, you’d think Warren was working for the NDP rather than the Liberals. I am so glad that these tactics failed. There is hope for Canadian democracy.

I just saw Watson say that she did not run negative; is it just me but has she ever admited that she was wrong about anything ? I doubt it. Its’ always somebody elses fault. sd

Great work as always,Greg. Now, if you call Parkdle High Park for the NDP in the general election, that should give the NDP 11. And in the stratetic voting guide, the option to give the NDP the balance of power should be highlighted.
