A hypothetical conversation with Mr. Tory

Me: Mr Tory would you be willing to answer a hypothetical question.

Mr. T. : Hypothetically yes.

Me: Suppose Mr Tory that you decided to go skydiving and you were going to jump into a beautiful valley with lots of fresh water and beautiful shade trees. So you take a small canteen and a warm comfortable sleeping bag and heavy tent. You go up in the plane and you jump. BUT there is a terrible mistake and you end up jumping into a blazing hot desert. What do you do do you carry the warm sleeping bag and heavy tent or do you cut your losses and adapt.

Mr T. : mumble…mumble …exclaimation…etc.

Me: Ding, ding , ding…..I can name that tune…It I’m dancing as fast as I can.

Mr T. : mumble…mumble …exclaimation…etc.

Me: Which naturally leads us to the question….How did Mr. McGuinty end up in the desert ?

Mr T. : mumble…mumble …exclaimation…etc.

Me: I think the basis of the situation was that the province was almost Harrised into the ground and then as I see it we faced the Eves of destruction and the net result was that Dalton was in the desert where he had to adapt….which is doubtlessly what you would have done too.

Mr T. : mumble…mumble …exclaimation…etc.

Me: And now you have the gall to come before the people of Ontario and suggest we elect another of these Tory-bull premiers that would put us back out even further into the desert….and no sir I am not making fun of your name…your party’s name….yes …yours ..no.

Do people in the real world really cast their ballot based on race or gender? Sure, there are some who have preferences for their own ethnic group, but I suspect most people don't use the election as a kind of affirmative action program. It's a matter of who does the best job.

You're not giving Greg much credit. He's a researcher - I'm sure he researched it.

Heck, I'm not a researcher, and even I would know better then to presume something on a person's name alone.

How do you determine who is a man, woman or minority? Do you just go by their names, because that would not be very reliable.
