I couldn't attend for want of funds but I'm glad that the Libs rejected the 1 member 1 vote motion.

The publicity that this convention has generated is awesome. I heard on CPAC many delegates reminding folks that they first got involved with the Libs at a leadership convention. Can you imagine anyone looking back on the great day that they turned on the computer, and clicked their prefernce beside Frank Klee?

Even though I'm disappointed at being unable to attend, I'm enjoying all the excitement that this convention is generating. Having been to a few before, I appreciate the importance of making contacts while trying to persuade or being persuaded by other delegates.

I know that you can still hold a convention while someone reads out the delegate vote results, but the interest level is greatly reduced.

If the Dryden rumour is true then Kennedy might surprise alot of people.

Dryden's supporters are very loyal and if they go to Kennedy that will likely keep him in third place.

If Dion backs Kennedy after being dropped from the ballot then Kennedy could surpass Rae.

This would create an Iggy-Kennedy showdown.

a very interesting scenario.

OJ, CTV is reporting that the Kennedy-Dion deal is to take effect after the 2nd ballot, and that Dryden will hang in through the 2nd.

This could lead to Dion finishing ahead of Kennedy and probably vaulting past rae.

I've also heard speculation that a number (big or small?) of Iggy delegates will change their vote after the 1st ballot. So it could still be a rae-Dion showdown in the final ballot.

There's about 10 other scenarios floating around too.

Oh, and if I heard it correctly, CTV is also reporting that Dryden will back Dion, and that Rae would be his second choice.

CPAC says that Dryden will release his delegates.
