This riding should be the first in the province to be called for any party, as its clearly going to the Tories. Not only is this an incredibly safe Conservative riding demographically, but the Tories are running their most popular MPP in the province - Tim Hudak.

With the strongest Conservative portions of the old Erie-Lincoln riding (Lincoln and West-Lincoln), both becoming a part of Niagara West-Glanbrook, a Conservative victory is guaranteed.

Look for Hudak to top 50%, and probably have the safest win in the province of any candidate.

Comment/commentaire by John 08.23.06 @ 4:45 pm

I don’t think Hudak is as safe as he thinks… Inside rumor has it that he will be up against a formidable female candidate. This experienced and seasoned liberal candidate will take this riding hands down. Hudak will be lucky to get 30%

Comment/commentaire by Carter 12.10.06 @ 8:00 pm

Nice try, Heather. This riding’s going Tory.

Comment/commentaire by Jay DiBiasso 03.06.07 @ 9:02 pm

This riding will be closer than a lot of people think, the Liberals did a good job picking their candidate. Lostracco is a former teacher & principal who is well known throughout the riding, especially to younger voters, & Lostracco is still a young guy himself. If the Liberals run a good campaign, they might be able to steal this one.

Comment/commentaire by Leo Lehman 07.18.07 @ 11:49 am

Rudimentary mathematics dictates a tremendous win for Hudak here. Hudak’s 48% win in 2003 came at the absolute lowpoint for the PC Party - a credit to his unique but nonetheless effective style of campaigning. Even a slight increase in support for the PCs provincially (which is unavoidable) will result in a 58%-60% victory. Much higher targets are likely if John Tory secures a majority government.

Comment/commentaire by Choppo 07.23.07 @ 1:25 pm

Leo - Its time to get off the happy grass served up at the Brock Liberal club.

Lostracco is NOT known throughout the riding at all. No one in Glanbrook, Pelham, West Lincoln, or Stoney Creek has ever heard of the guy. He is hardly known even in the Lincoln (where he lives) and Grimsby (where he used to teach). He now teaches in Port Colborne (where he has been for the last 5 years)! Outside the riding!

Nominating Lostracco should be a major disappointment for local liberals. The fact that the Liberals couldn’t convince Zimmerman, Mossop, or even a town councillor or mayor to run says it all. They’ve given up.

Comment/commentaire by Kevin 07.30.07 @ 7:13 am

Kevin hit the nail on the head. Lostracco is not well known and the failure to convince Mossop, Zimmerman or a local councillor shows the Liberals have given up.

Lostracco should be running and hiding. Hudak secured PC Leader John Tory to attend his campaign office opening in Grimsby and got 500 people to attend - on a Monday afternoon! Hudak is constantly in the media and he even knocked on my uncle’s door in Stoney Creek a few weeks back - this guy is working his butt off!

As for Lostracco, his inexperience continues to hamper him and will likely only get worse. The July 20 Stoney Creek News reported “And although he was admittedly hazy on issues affecting Binbrook and upper Stoney Creek residents, Mr. Lostracco said the federal government must do something about the “excessive growth” in those areas and the continuing loss of manufacturing jobs in Hamilton.”

So there you have it. 1 - he doesn’t know what issues are affecting Glanbrook and Stoney Creek residents; and 2 - the federal government has no jurisdiction over planning as its a provincial issue.

I think Lostracco better go back and do some homework before the election really gets ramped up.

Comment/commentaire by Paulie Sigh 07.31.07 @ 9:57 am

If Lostracco was serious about taking a run at winning Niagara West-Glanbrook, he’d get off the golf course and start campaigning.

Every time I’m up at the Twenty Vally Golf and Country Club, Lostracco is golfing!

August 8 and August 16, just to name a few.

Comment/commentaire by Thomas 08.17.07 @ 6:59 am

I think everyone is really off and i have to take Leo’s side on this issue.

Contrary to politicals who think they know what they are talking about on here, Lostracco has not been at Lakeshore Catholic in Port Colborne for 5 years its been 4, clearly because his job is as a principal you go where you are needed and therefore if its out of riding and thats where the bored puts you so be it.

Second… His experience in the work place perfectly well prepares him for a job, at least he managed to gain some life experience and WORK experience before entering the political world. Lostracco is not a career politican like some. He has real life experience dealing with people and issues that were a direct result of teh former HARRIS and Eves Governements.

Lostracco is highly known in Grimsby and his local community of Vineland as a educator and a dedicated member of the community. He brought The Area thier first Catholic High School, and build it from nothing to one of the newest and state of the art high schools in Niagara.

He has been involved in local sports associations in the area as a direct result of his Childrens involvment in the community.

Another rare quality of Lostracco is the fact that hes a true honest person, this man generally wnats to move forward and continue the good that as come to the province since 2003, This man is generally intersted in the good of the people, when this man makes a committment to represent the people of the riding he will do so, not cut adn run as soon as he hears the riding is be realigned. This is a strong personable leader, with wisdom and integrity and the people of Niagara West Glanbrook will be able to see this these partisan attacks which in the end will only backfire.

Numbers mean nothing, we have a new riding provincially with both strong blue and red areas and this will be ALOT closer then any of those listed above wish to consider. Mr Hudak has the race of his life coming in front of him, because Mike Lostracco is comming and finally people can place their trust back into Ontarios Politicians and Political System

Strgenth, Integrity and Community Service Mike Lostracco is the right represenative for the people and on Election Day the people of NWG will prove that.

Comment/commentaire by Peter 08.20.07 @ 12:04 am

Also Anyone who say 500 people at Hudaks Office opening is kidding themselves…….Around 60 happens to be the true number, these games with media are not govenring its the development and meeting the people thats the real governing, people want to look into thier politicians eyes and see trust, sincerity and integrity and when Mike Lostracco came knocking last Week in Stoney Creek, thats what the people saw.

Comment/commentaire by Peter 08.20.07 @ 12:06 am

C’mon Peter (Opdam), your opinion is clearly biased by the fact that you started the “Elect Mike Lostracco” Facebook group and the fact that you list his election campaign as your current employer…

60 people at Tim’s Campaign Office Opening eh? You must be a liberal. I drove past there that day, and the place was completely packed. People were parking all over downtown Grimsby. And, again, that was a Monday afternoon!

Comment/commentaire by George 08.20.07 @ 11:19 am

Nice try Peter, but who is kidding who? I haven’t seen Lostracco anywhere but at the Twenty Valley Golf Club.

The recent Festival at the Forty event in Grimsby had Hudak there, meeting people, hearing what’s on their minds. Lostracco was nowhere to be found.

The only other time Lostracco was in the newspaper was when he visited Blessed Trinity to speak with students. Too bad that was 3 weeks after Hudak was there.

Where is Lostracco’s campaign office?

Where is his website?

I havent seen any literature piece from him - do they even exist?

If he was so eager to win the riding, then he should be paying attention to the basics I just outlined. Instead of playing golf, maybe he should head to summer school and take Politics 101.

Comment/commentaire by Paulie Sigh 08.20.07 @ 11:30 am

Peter, Lostracco will cause the Hudak the race of his life? Come on. Hudak is a senior member of the PC Party, former Cabinet Minister and has been a MPP since 1995.

He beat former NDP Cabinet Minister Shirley Coppen in 1995, Dunnville councillor Lorne Boyko in 1999, and Port Colborne Mayor Vance Badawey in 2003 - all seasoned politicians. Lostracco is a first time poltiician and never spoke to a crowd larger than a student assembly at Lakeshore Catholic High School.

Comment/commentaire by Graham 08.20.07 @ 12:13 pm

To Peter, Et al who are Lostracco fans, keep in mind WHICH site your are commenting on. You expect fairness or non partisanship, look to the Greens. You want typical political rhetoric, keep posting here. I have been involved in politics for closing in on 40 years and I have yet to see a Tory site that has doesn’t cater only to Tory wonks. I mean come one guys, this IS a Tory board, so you will of course get primarily Tories talking about how wonderful this candidate is and how he is going to kick everyones arse in the next election. Everyone does it.
What I find telling on this site, is the banner ad “Jesus didnt exist” Intertesting ad for a party that goes on about good Christian Family values… promoting a site that espouses perhaps a view of the Darker side of politicians… say what is needed to get elected, and forget the hindmost.

Comment/commentaire by Paul 08.20.07 @ 1:21 pm

to be quite hoenst, political affiliations aside, and the groups i start aside as wells as jobs aside. I personally know this man, this is why i come to his defense, he is a good guy he has good intentions at heart and he is doing what needs to be done. I know Tim as well, nice guy as well i just dont agree with him politically, thats my view and i stand by it.

I just wasnt too pleased to see Mike degraded saying that he has no experience and is going to get completely wiped, do we not remember what happended when Deb Zimmerman took on Dean Allison whne the riding was first alligned, it was close…… I dont think this is going to be so much a blow out as everyone thinks

Comment/commentaire by Peter 08.20.07 @ 5:06 pm

Lostracco is very well known and respected throughout much of this riding. Sure he is inexperienced, but he is a very charismatic, and hardy individual who brings alot to the table.

Paulie,
1) I was told only 50 people attended Hudak’s campaign office opening…not 500
2)I read the same article you did and I’ve never seen a quote in the Stoney Creek News that is accurate; past instances have shown me they shape information way out of context.

As for Tim Hudak, he is just a master of photo-ops who lacks any real substance. So what if he knocked on your uncle’s door, my brother (who also resides in Stoney Creek) told me Lostracco and his wife knocked on his door a week ago!

So tell me then, what has Tim Hudak honestly done for this riding that would want to make people vote for him again? He just brings that Mike Harris’ mentality to the table. His re-occuring picture in the paper does not mean that he is being productive.

Comment/commentaire by Dave 08.20.07 @ 7:07 pm

To Add to Dave, Lostracco has been out he is going to be out this week, furthermore i agree Tim is everyone in PICTURES, that doenst mean he is doing anything productive, Stoney Creek News is always out of context AND……

Tim happens to STILL BE MY MPP yet he has not been in my riding for the past 3 years. Tim has done nothing for Port COlborne, Wainfleet since he found out the ridings were going to be re-aligned. Sure the dump is of issue to Binbrook residents wheres Tim, right there taking pictures and doing Tours, sure but where was Tim when Port Colborne had the same problem over the past 2 years…..certainily not taking tours or writing letters to the Minister, our local and regional politicians did his job for him and John Maloney in Welland also picked up his slack because he was totally neglecting those who elected him.

Lets remember Tim ISNT MPP of Niagara WestGlanbrook yet…hes MPP of Erie Lincoln and maybe he and others should remember that until the day the campaign starts he still has a priority to those voters.

Comment/commentaire by Peter 08.20.07 @ 9:32 pm

Peter, if numbers don’t mean anything, than why do you constantly argue there were not 500 people at Hudak’s campaign office opening? If numbers don’t matter, then why the big argument?

2- Sure, Zimmerman did come close to Allison. No argument there. But, she had been a municipal politician for nearly 20 years. As well, she held the highest office in Niagara as the Region’s Chair. Of course she would come close. But then Allison smoked unknown Heather Carter by nearly 10,000 votes. Maybe you are right - numbers mean nothing, a win is a win.

3 - You claim Lostracco “brought” Blessed Trinity to Grimsby. The school was built in 1995. It was likely the NDP government that provided the funding for the school’s construction. Was Lostracco a Cabinet Minister who authorized the funding? Being the first principal doesn’t mean he “brought” the school to Grimsby.

And nobody was demeaning Lostracco by saying he was inexperienced. Its the truth - he’s never held public office.

Comment/commentaire by Stephen 08.21.07 @ 12:24 pm

Don’t blame the Stoney Creek News for Lostraccco’s inexperience. If the paper mis-quoted him, then why didn’t he call the reporter back and correct the record?

Comment/commentaire by Paulie Sigh 08.21.07 @ 12:34 pm

Thank you for avoding the whole part Tim not doing anything for Erie Lincoln and rather ignoring them adn Concenrtrating on NWG as soon as the riding change was annoucned……confirms and just gives weight to what i said. Im done all enjoy the election

Comment/commentaire by Peter 08.22.07 @ 12:30 am

Peter, since you appear to be Mike Lostracco’s campaign manager, please clarify what Lostracco really said to the Stoney Creek News on July 20. In your political wisdom, why is the Stoney Creek News out to get poor Port Colborne Mike?

Comment/commentaire by Paulie Sigh 08.22.07 @ 6:26 pm

Paulie, why should he have to call back and correct them if they evidently mis-printed it on purpose? I doubt Lostracco would say anything regarding any matter unless he knew what he was talking about after doing research. For someone who sounds as smart as you, you should know that when people write articles regarding two oppositions they are going to take a side. It’s pretty evident that the person who wrote the article is either:
a) Conservative or b) one of Hudak’s people/goons

Lostracco shouldn’t be wasting his time on useless garbage like calling the paper back. Besides, there probably won’t be enough room to correct the statement made by Lostracco with all the profile shots of Hudak grazing every page.

Comment/commentaire by Dave 08.23.07 @ 3:38 pm

Here’s the thing — Mr. Hudak has been campaigning for the past 2 years, through his good fortune of being re-elected and being in opposition. Certainly this provides him some advantage. However, Mr. Lostracco isn’t quite the neophyte suggested by some of the Tory writers. Also, not sure how Mr. Hudak’s strong view on faith based schools funding is going to play out. We shall see how this plays out.

Comment/commentaire by Rob 09.14.07 @ 9:29 am

Not sure how Tim Hudak’s strong view on faith based schools funding is going to play out in this riding? If anything, it only improves his support - significantly - in this riding. If NW-G wasn’t already a lock for Hudak, this just further solidifies it.

Comment/commentaire by Nick 09.16.07 @ 4:12 pm

Word is that the Lostracco camp got into a dispute with the Binbrook Fair organizers after failing to pay for their booth.

In addition, the Lostracco camp is so dis-organized, they booked a spot in the Binbrook Fair Parade, and then no-showed.

Let’s see how long it takes for Lostracco’s campaign manager to get the axe with the campagin going this badly for them.

Comment/commentaire by Binbrook Observer 09.17.07 @ 2:48 pm

…and then when they packed up their booth, they ripped up all the red duct tape, (how ironic, red tape, from liberals), that was holding down the 12×12 piece of junk carpet that they brought with them, AND LEFT IT BEHIND for Fair volunteers to clean up, and have to pay to dispose of.

Rude, and environmentally irresponsible.

Tsk, Tsk.

Comment/commentaire by Binbrook Cleanup Squad 09.18.07 @ 4:16 pm

Peter;

(I realize this is a long dead horse)

But 500 people at Hudak’s opening, is probably accurate, given the plan was to host 350, and they had to send out for boxes and boxes of more food, in a huge last minute rush, right during the lunch service. (I observed the order going in, personally)

Perhaps you should review the video that your colleague shot of the official opening, from the front row. Tall, blonde chap, about 21 years old — perhaps it was you?
He was recognized right away by many, but I think the lunch committee was flattered to have such kind attention from the local liberal machine. :-)

Jim

Comment/commentaire by Jim Jackson 09.18.07 @ 4:26 pm

Leave it to all the Conservatives to start some BS gossip that has nothing to do with the election. It seems like everyone in favour of Hudak is taking little shots at Lostracco and the Liberals. What we should really be talking about is the mess that the Conservatives left last time they were in power (ie: education and health care) and how it will just be more of the same. Everyone here sounds like a bunch of high school girls gossiping about small petty things, taking shots, and not focusing on the real issues that we as citizens should be focusing on.

Greetings,

Period.

Further, as a non-profit, non-partisan, and non-denominational organization, we do not wish to be further involved or included in any political debates, blogs, or postings.

we’ve met before and your group is a good one that cares and helps your community and agriculture where others do nothing
keep up the good work

what i find interesting while respecting your wish to not discuss any further is dave’s assumption that the information was posted by a pc supporter or team member
it was anti liberal sure but there were greens and ndp and others there too who only stand to gain if either libs or pc suffer embarassment

just a thought

you want to talk issues
fine lets do that

energy
dalton has no plan and lied through his teeth about the coal plants
any 10 year old kid that has studied ontario energy knows you need both steady generation and peak coverage (on/off energy)

he wasted 4 years that could have included at least scrubbers to clean the exhaust gasses

now hes jumped on the pc bandwagon of more nuclear

want to see his hot air idea?

or search youtube.com for ‘dalton wind farm’

Comment/commentaire by Jim Sullivan 09.30.07 @ 8:30 am

issue caledonia

dalton blames feds while opp govern site
in spite of any other issue there can not be conversation while there is lawlessness
that is a societal lesson i teach students sociology 101

yet here is a quote from mr lostracco himself (from the public debate the other night, quoting the local paper):
“Who says they’re breaking the law?”

wtf
where has this guy been?

the father who was beaten near death while trying to work on his daughter’s house in caledonia is still in hospital

Comment/commentaire by Jim Sullivan 09.30.07 @ 8:35 am

at the debate i was at lostracco promised us a monorail
i laughed and so did others but at least its made for entertainment on youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_joqjYz1QI

or search youtube for lostracco

while youre there punch in tim hudak and see what a good mpp does and shows on youtube

we need transport solutions and not 4 more years of wasted time and money
might as well just put all the cash in a paper envelope lostracco and hand it out

do your homework

shouldnt his team be telling him some facts?

Comment/commentaire by Jim Sullivan 09.30.07 @ 8:40 am

issue signs

election signs are part of the game but learn the rules lostracco team

my neighbour got a sign stuck on his commercial property
when he asked them to stop and remove it the installers told him that they couldnt an if he did hed be breaking the law
told him it was city property in front of his business

funny thing
if city property isnt that illegal in hamilton?

i was there when harris went through
it wasnt pretty

but he said what he was going to do up front and we chose to elect him
and then funny thing happened
he actually did what he said he would do

now hes gone
but the standards system for teachers and testing that he put into place is finally rolling along and things are better than ever before
weve ditched some uselss teachers (we always knew who they were but you cant say out loud or the union lynches you)
the testing shows where we need work
the younger teachers are getting a chance
new ideas and new ideals are getting into the system

i think education is now in better shape and its nothing to do with anyhthing done in the last 4 years its just taken that long to see the benefits of mike harris plan

youve got what - 30 billion more of our money and nothing has improved in healthcare

obviously money isnt the answer
you need to fix the system and stop wasting our money
mike started and did the tough things and dalton you just screwed it up worse

no more money
just fix the bullshit that goes on
i have family members on waiting lists
one that got actually to the operating room but got no surgery

its not more money we need
we need real management of the system and proper leadership

Comment/commentaire by Nick J Boragina 10.04.07 @ 2:09 am

Let me start by saying that I used to work for Tim Hudak - In fact I spent 6.5 years of my life doing so. I also went to DM and had Lostracco as a VP. So I know both men.

I know that these sites can get rather partisan - But for those of you Liberals claiming that Tim is has not done anything for Erie Lincoln in the past - I ask you to please take a look around you.

While in government Tim Championed many local initiatives - From keeping small rural hospitals open (the rural and northern health care framework 1997) to ensuring that Niagara’s wineries get more exposure from our public Liquor stores.

I have seen Tim work first hand - and I can tell you - the guy is constantly busy - His schedule is full of a lot more than Photo Ops.

So Dave - throwing insults out about Tim or his Wife being behind these comments is an absolute outrage. You are clearly a partisan with no ethics or class.

I am an admitted partisan - and While I am working on a different campaign this time around (because quite frankly Tim doesn’t need my help to get elected) I can tell you as a kid that grew up in Beamsville - This is the best advocate that we have ever had at any level of government.

Without putting Lostracco down - I quite like the man - I have to say that this riding is, in my educated and politically active opinion, one of the safest seats the Tories have in Ontario.

Good luck to Mike Lostracco next week - It is not easy going up against a popular incumbant.

Better luck to Tim - Keep up the good WORK!!

Martin von Wuthenau
Former Hudak Staffer

Comment/commentaire by Martin von Wuthenau 10.05.07 @ 12:42 pm

Why didn’t the Conservatives nominate Jim Sullivan? But seriously, as someone who has alternated between the Liberals & Conservatives over the past 40 years, I really have to take issue with a politician like Tim Hudak. Contrary to the posting by his former staffer, Tim Hudak has shown himself to be a mean-spirited politician responsible for a good deal of bluster and little (albeit, some) substance. As soon as the riding boundaries changed, Tim mysteriously started showing up at my church. Aside from getting kicked out of the legislature earlier this year, he really hasn’t made headlines for work accomplished in his old riding. The Hudak staffer has to go back 10 years to find a worthwhile endeavor? What this riding needs more than someone who looks good in a photo-op is someone who works hard. After meeting him last week, I can honestly say Mike Lostracco’s approach to politics is genuine & pragmatic. He may be a novice politician, but I find his integrity refreshing. This is why I will vote for him. The mean-spirited Harris days are over – Hudak is a relic from the past.

this will be daltons last term
i hope he enjoys it

then it will be pain time again while conservatives come back in to clean up his mess

Maybe if Ontario was swimming in Oil like Alberta is they wouldnt have that problem of lack of money and services. Alberta doing well has absolutely nothing to do with the PCs and conservative values its because of oil specifically. Youd do well to remember that. Your conservative buddies can only really govern in your specific view in a province that is very rich and usually only win elections(recently anyways) when theres a recent Liberal/NDP scandal,(Sponsorship scandal, without that Liberals win a majority in 04 so 06 doesnt happen and Paul Martin is still PM, or some of those BCNDP ones from Harcourt or Clark) or some other problem like a scanda or Campaigning on “Its time for a change” after losing 4 (or more) elections in a row or unless they modify their views to be more Red Tory(why do you think The PC’s won so many elections, Bill Davis specifically as the example of a Red Tory) When the reigns got passed to Frank Miller a Blue tory, he got a vote of no confidence right after his only marginal minority election win. Harris came in at a better time economically than Rae and if their positions were reversed there is no doubt Harris would have went down as bad as Rae did in 1995. Its the same with any politician, a strong economy and balanced budget is one of the best allies you can have and if youre in a terrible economy (like the NDP were and its clear that global forces were at work here not just Ontario forces) you will almost certainly lose. Harris got in also because Mcleod dropped the ball and flipflopped on some issues that got overblown out in the media (kinda like Tory in a way this time with religious schools.)

Another thing, is when John Tory resigns who is going to be the leader? Some say Hudak could have a chance, but he is a Blue Tory(ie on the right wing of a center right party). The Liberals will just soak up all the moderate votes and win a 3rd term then. People call the PCs Ontario’s Natural Governing Party, but when McGuinty wins this time and we assume he gets a 4 year term, 18 out of the last 26 years will have had a non-PC government. Not so good for the natural governing party eh?

Oh and Hudak will win here but it will be less than 15% of a margin.

Oh and the BC Liberals as far as im concerned are a conservative party

I am going to go out on a limb and call this as a slim Liberal victory, either that or this will be a very close race.

red you named yourself well cuz thats where our books will be, in the red

you’ve obviously not taught or taken canadian economics in the past 10 years so i will enlighten you

for every dollar (that is $1.00 canadian dollar) that comes out of the ground in alberta, there is $1.60 that comes to ontario in trickledown revenue

so for every dollar alberta gets we’re getting 1.6 times that yet we still can’t seem to do the right things here
we still have highest pst and are now creeping to highest personal income tax again

don’t blame the oil money red
you’re getting it too
its just badly mis-managed here and filled with bullshit

our single biggest problem here is that it takes years and years of pain to clean up a bad debt (look at trudeau’s mess we’re still working on) and only one bad term to toss us right back in there again

mcguilty spent the last 4 years giving everyone free money, and raised the annual budget by 50% to its highest ever

that is criminal

and thats just the phiscal problems

you touched on moral too
thank god for my conservative morals raising my kids, while your liberal ones are trying to sell them pot in the high schools
and thanks to martin/cretin team there isn’t anything the cops can do

my oldest is in alberta now, and they just laugh at ontario now
they can’t believe how guilible people here are
they talk about how ontario is still living in the 60’s

put the bong down red
its time to run the store

’slim liberal victory’
‘pc but by less than 15%’

wow
guess you were wrong.

congrats to Bonnie and the ndp
good headway
nice to see the greens out there as well

Tim took it by what, 23% margin over the next closest or something?

prediction #1 here was right
the rest was all hot air

Well youve made your choice to be a conservative and ive made my choice as a liberal i guess. Every government has some corruption. Slander me and liberals all you want, Im just content that for one night at least the forces of conservatism embodied by you and your buddy Hudak have been checked. Dont forget about Mulroney, he accumulated 2x as much debt as Trudeau in essentially half the time.

Another thing, ever ask your kids if they ever smoked pot? you might get a surprising answer. You never know what happens behind closed doors…

Well, as an economics major, I can tell you that that makes no economic sense at all! What’s going on? Is the money mating while on the truck to Toronto? By its very definition, a resource economy leaves the majority of its profits in the place where the resources are from. Why? You need capital in order to (in this case) mine the resource. Only a small margin of the net profit would trickle to Toronto, and that would only be the case if the head offices were located there, which we all know they are based in Calgary.

Well, if significantly better healthcare, safer streets and better schools are the proceeds of crime, then slap some cuffs onto me, cause I’m guilty of aiding and abetting. Aside from that, we’ve eliminated the $5.6 billion deficit Hudak, Harris and their cronies left behnid, and have paid down the debt.

As for the morals… well. Your strategy to life is to throw anyone who’s different behind bars. Reminds me of the Nazi philosophy… no blond hair, no blue eyes, no freedom. If you had your way Jim, the prison population would be 20x what it is now, and we’d be executing retarded people like in Texas. If that’s what you want Jimmy Boy, move down there and leave our green, peaceful province alone!

As for the results of the election, I would argue that a majority of Ontarians are pleased with our “socialist-bordering-on-communist-tax-and-spend-evil” government. As my studies in my other major (poli sci) dictate, voter turnout is traditionally low in a race where people are satisfied with the status quo. People only vote when they feel threatened by something, which is why you see voter turnout high in select areas (Thornhill and Don Valley West come to mind), but low overall.

If you polled Ontarians, or else we had mandetory voting, you would find greater than 50% satisfaction with the Ontario Liberals. The Tories… well, you guys are going to get a new leader soon. If it’s Hudak, you can kiss any chances of winning an election good bye, cause moivng to the far right ain’t going to get you elected! Don’t even get me started on Kleese… he’s shot himself in the foot enough in this campaign to virtually make him a walking target for political fire. $5 entrance fee’s for hospitals alone could be a whole series of commercials… I can see them now.

So unless you lot get a darkhorse candidate soon, say goodbye to governing for atleast 2, probably more terms.

Oh, and one more thing. Alberta’s such a great place. Try to find a place to live. Case closed!
