The well-off but liberal-minded folks of Oakville are fleeing the PCs on the faith-based schools issue. Tory made his very silly position abundantly clear at the start of the campaign, and he will have lots of time to reflect on how stupid the position really was after Oct. 10. In Oakville, it will be close but Flynn will hold it.

As far as leader popularity goes, John Tory is way ahead of McGuinty in Oakville. No wonder Kevin Flynn never mentions “Dalton McGuinty” in any of his lit/ads…
Mention his name at the door once and Flynn loses votes twice. Afterall, who’s going to believe more McGuinty promises a second time like “I won’t raise your taxes….this time…”

Take a look at the New poll by SES which has the liberals 8 points ahead of the tories, SES is one of the most accurate pollsters and came with in less that 0.1 percent of the correct results. This poll can be trusted and I’m guessing this means that Flynn will hold this seat.

Flynn by 2000

The reality is that Tory has not met expectations and that Oakville has a lot of Public and Catholic schools. Faith Based Fuinding is “the” issue of this Campaign. Also, a week central NDP camapign hurts Byers as those votes will go Liberal (such as with Carr’s first PC victory.

I don’t think Oakville will really change (ie loose an incumbent) and go into opposition.

Byers needed just a small boost to take this seat from his Central campaign. He did not get it. The Byers and Oakville Pcers can hold their heads up high.
