If anyone actually thinks that Mike Patton has a chance to beat Watson, they need their head read.

Watson will win by at least 5 points on election day.

Well Watson better get his shit in order because a poll released this week by Ipsos placed the newcomer about 4% or 5% ahead of the incumbent. Residents of the riding are pretty unhappy that Watson, a former city councillor and mayor, hasn’t done anything for the citizens of Ottawa. Expect even the dippers to double their popularity in this riding at the expense of the incumbent.

Matt – the poll to which you refer by Ipsos is actually the seat projection done by us, DemocraticSPACE (note we have an on-going partnership with Ipsos-Reid throughout the campaign). It is not a riding poll, it is a vote projection.

I am not a liberal but Jim Watson has always been available to his constituents. He holds a cabinet position and is a solid, honest politician. He has a great record as Mayor of Ottawa. Mike Patton’s last job (8 months) was working with our Mayor – he used that sinking ship to build up enough political capital to run. Prior to that her worked for Rick Chiarelli. What else has he done?

Mike Patton – Watson will sail easily to re-election. Did anyone see that article in the Citizen (or was it the Sun) where Patton was one on one and gave some goofy answers?

You gotta wonder why the Ontario PC Party isn’t using Patton on any city-wide all-candidates debates? Where’s Patton been? Last time I checked, Pizza Pizza on Elgin Street wasn’t the place to canvass in Ottawa-West-Nepean

Now we see he has fudged his CV. What’s next?

This baby is done.

The Ottawa Citizen endorsed Jim Watson this week. If a Conservative paper like The Citizen does that, it can’t be too good for the Conservative candidate here.

Mike Who? Imagine thinking this would be close.Mike Patton is not a Heavyweight or well known and fudged his resume!Watson is well liked and gets results. Patton is like Macleod,A Photo-Op.McGuinty-Watson give $200 million to Ottawa for transit,$60 million to city last year and are uploading the downloading Tories dumped on cities.
Watson in a walk and a McGuinty Majority. If Patton is a star,Tories off to Hollywood opposition for 4 more years.
