I wanted to invite you all to check me out at myspace.com/andrea4mpp and facebook: Andrea Moffat for MPP. andreamoffat.ca is coming soon as well but in the meantime I am hoping to connect with as many people as possible to hear what issues matter most to you!!!

Thanks for your time and keep up the great work.

This is a fantastic site with a great deal of analysis put into each riding. I have noticed that at this time only one candidate from my riding has made a post on this site. I find this quite shocking with an election looming.

It is good see that there is a candidate, Andrea Moffat, who is connecting with younger voters on a level that they can appreciate. I can see someone like Andrea getting the highest turn out of first time voters because of this. The favoured candidate, Wayne Arthurs, is basically invisible in the Scarborough portion of his riding and appears to be complacent with getting just the Pickering vote (the city of which he was a long standing Mayor).
Diane Hall may get a few votes from the right leaning, small ‘l’ Liberals but she has also been invisible across the riding.

In my opinion it appears the Conservatives are conceding defeat to the Liberals gain (maintain) control of this new riding. Furthermore, both these parties are taking major stances that align themselves with the NDP?!?!

I agree that it’s great Andrea is reaching out to the young voters in this riding. They are a valuable resource that is often neglected by other candidates. Futhermore, I think that Andrea’s fresh ideas and approach to politics paired with her knowledge of the riding and community are a winning combination. She will do a great job representing the riding in the coming term, given she wins the election, which I believe is a real possibility.

Further, I agree with Howard that the major parties are taking stances that align themselves with the NDP. As the major brokerage parties vie for the valubale median voter we begin to see liberal policies that look and feel conservative and vice versa. A good example of this is the health care cuts under the Liberal government in Ontario these past few years. This can be very frusturating to voters as they become disenfranchised through lack of choice in the Canadian democracy. This leads to an increase in support for parties such as the NDP who are stand steadfast to their platform. They give Canadians a “third way” and with candidates like Andrea Moffat it is not wonder that NDP support is on the way up and the more dominant political parties are jumping on the band wagon. Canadians are tired of the same old thing that isn’t working, and we are looking to the NDP for innovation and change.
If anybody would like a chance to meet Andrea and her team in person and find out what alternatives they have to the conservative-liberal conglomeration, they should visit the new NDP Campaign office located beside the Canadian Tire in the Rylander plaza (Port Union and the 401). There is an open house this coming Saturday September 8th from 11-2 and all members of the Pickering-Scarborough East community are encouraged to attend. Best of luck to team Moffat in the upcoming weeks!

Please add the Green Party candidate, Anita Lalchan, to your list of candidates in the Pickering – Scarborough East riding. Thank you

I’m dismayed that this site is providing links to specific candidate and party websites! All candidates in all ridings deserve equal recognition, so please provide links to the other candiate sites as well! thanks

wow, lots of NDP crazies on here! This riding is going Red again, Wayne is building up a profile in Scarborough, and he already has that reputation in Pickering. Pickering is 2/3’s of the riding while Scarborough is 1/3 so Wayne will win convincingly.

NDP crazies?! lol Yeah we are crazy. Crazy about building momentum and saying NO to the Liberals…

I’m going to be voting Independent as usual. As for friends and family, Chazz Michael Michaels walks it alone. That’s why they call me the Lone Wolf: on my back there.
