You have made a pretty good prediction already, a greater than average Conservative trend, fueled by an incumbant retiring and a strong Conservative candidate running. Becuase of the intensely personal politics of Newfoundland, I am willing to stretch a bit more and give the Conservative candidate the seat.

Liberals will this long time Liberal seat

I am going to call this one a Conservative pick up.

Longtime Liberal seat? lol! more like traditional tory homeland! I’ve seen these two candidates debate eachother, and I’ve seen the national trend. While I’m not certain, I say this riding is leaning Conservative

Predict a win for Fabian Manning! What incentive is there to vote Liberal? More corruption???????

Comment/commentaire by Tony Fennell 01.15.06 @ 11:29 am

Mr. Manning would be a delight to see in the Parliament of Canada. Fabian would light a fire under the Tories keep then on course. The East Coast Canucks need a Champion this is your Champion. A strong Eastern Canada makes for a strong Canada from Sea to Sea. bob scrymgeour

I’m going to say a very very slim Conservative win.

Con win by 4%

Slim conservative win. Liberals disenchanted with Efford and Martin’s performance. Manning built himself the label “people’s champion”. Manning in a close one

I think the Liberals will win this riding but it will be close. The tide seems to be changing direction and the Tories losing steam before election day. I believe that voters contemplating voting Conservative will realize that a Harper government is not in the best interests of Canada’s social programs. To paraphrase “This Hour Has 22 Minutes”, the Liberals ads may be portraying Stephen Harper as something he isn’t, the Conservative ads are portraying Stephen Harper as something he isn’t too.

Manning will win this riding. it’s high time the Fiberals are banished to the politcal wasteland.

Comment/commentaire by Johnny 01.20.06 @ 11:54 am

This will be a pickup by the conservitives. The Liberal candidate Morrow is more than up to the task when it comes to Liberal arrogance…Can’t remember when I seen/heard such a arrogant ass…

The Tories may have peeked but they are not loosing any ground…I just hope that the majority of voters can see right through the years of empty promises and gutting of NL by 12 years of Liberal domination.

liberals just seem to be looking backwords alllllllll the time or looking for the bogey man. i ask you tonight look in your childrens eyes and tell them mommy and daddy are voting liberal again because this is as good as it gets. then start to save so you can help them out when they move west. oh well, we can all go back to bed and bury our heads next tuesday…..just my thoughts.

To all the NDP voters in this riding. Please do not let the neo-cons of the Conservative party win this riding by default. There are other ridings in Canada where you can make a difference but not here. Your votes will be better spent in keeping a much-chastised -in-profound-need-of-change-left-of-centre Liberal party as the only party that can stop the Harper agenda. Aim for the day that the only two parties are the Liberals and the NDP. Please stop this socially conservative movement from swallowing Canada like it did the U.S.

I predict that Manning will win … perhaps not by a large margin. But that district is rigged as is other federal districts are in this province.

Comment/commentaire by GENE 01.22.06 @ 7:56 am

Hi: We need a manning vote in a conservative government at Ottawa to assist all concerned to get the weather station back in Gander. This is a must for this province all around.Lets do it…
Gene … again
