PREDICTED WINNER Brent St. Denis

Comment:
This will be a hard-fought race between Hughes and St. Denis. Support in this riding is highly varied, with the more Conservative Manitoulin Island being outpowered by the more populous mainland areas. Despite the general loss of support across Ontario for the Liberals, North-Central Ontario appears to be holding firm on the Liberals. This one will be close, but I’m expecting this one to hold for the Liberals. -Gregory D. Morrow

Concensus opinion seems to have agreed that the incumbent Liberal M.P. has resigned himself to finishing this race in third place. Now the contest is between the other two, with momentum on the side of the Conservatives.

Long overdue for a change in this riding.
I no longer trust Mr St Denise to do the right thing for the people he represents!!

Voting NDP is the only way we’ll get the government we deserve. The Liberals are no longer trustworthy and Stephen Harper’s solutions are not the ones Canadians want. When Harper headed the National Citizens Coalition, he was overwelmingly against public health care.

Unlike Paul Martin , Harper is not a millionaire, and depends on health care like us, so I don’t see him cutting it. His family are average working class folks, unlike the Martin family.

Time to swing Tory and let the Liberals regroup and get some new blood in their ranks, until then Conservative is the way to go.

I invite you to vote for the person. Chosing the right candidate, with the right values and integrity in our community is key. Brent St-Denis has been working for us and has been striving to get our word out in parlement. On the conservative side… having a cottage in our region doesn’t mean he knows what we are all about. Are we looking for a candidate who will go anywhere for prestige and glory of a political position or a candidate who will work with the people for the people. We need someone who truly understands the political grounds. Brent St-Denis is the way to go.

The Liberals don’t deserve a single vote and the “new look” Conservatives are a product of the Conservative-Reform-Alliance-Party (CRAP). Don’t let the new packaging of Mr. Harper fool you. He still does not support our form of medicare and he STRONGLY supported the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq.He won’t admit his terrible judgment error in late 2002 and early 2003 when he was in lock-step with Mr. George Bush. Check the official record e.g.Hanard of that time. Also check his speech to the so-called Friends of America in Toronto on April 4, 2003. Although he tries very hard, a leopard doesn’t change his spots. He and his “muzzled” gang are still extreme neo cons and a potential disaster to Canada. Support Jack Layton and the N D P for good progressive, people oriented government for the people. THINK ABOUT IT !

The NDP is the best way to go trust me on that as a 65 year old voter lived in Canada all my life. From Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa and Halifax. With my experience the NDP are the best choice if they ever win majority (which will not happen till people have a taste of the conservatives (which I have had) than NDP will have a chance of majority) the NDP would make Canada into a Country which all would want to live in, work, and educate their children. With my experience as a voter I believed the unbelievable (liberals) and turning our country into a US state (conservatives) and than the NDP some mistakes but nothing compared to other parties. The party to trust, the party that fights for Canada and its citizens and knows what Canadians need and want! Vote NDP trust them and you will not regret it = ). Best wishes to all candidates in all ridings and parties! GOOD LUCK!

Do not forget to vote January 23 2006
NDP!

Hi there! When none of the other candidates can look outside (it should be minus 20 and it’s RAINING) how can we trust them to be intelligent in Ottawa? I urge you to see the innovative ideas put forward by the Green Party at www.greenparty.ca.

Greens: Now would be a great time to vote NDP. You know it’s better than the other two. And heck, they might put in a good word for proportional representation, which will be the best thing possible for the Green party and Canadian democracy in general.

Brent St. Denis really never did anything real positive for the citizens of Elliot Lake and as for the Provincial Liberal leader Dalton McGuintys’ support for Mr. Martin. Makes a good fit as Mr. McGuinty lied to the voters of Ontario to get elected, so why shouldn’t he side with the arrogant and egotistical liberals. After all if Mr. Harper does get elected it will only be for as long as canadians want him there. So its time Canadians got a mit and got into the game when it comes to politics. Maybe its time for a new party that will work for all Canadians and not just for themselves and their interest

I notice the Predicted Winner has changed from NDP to “Too close to call”. Seeing what’s happening on the ground, this has to be recognition that Ian West is gaining clear recognition. Oh, by the way…Goodbye, Brent…

Comment/commentaire by Wilf P. 01.21.06 @ 10:00 am

I’ll hold my nose and vote for Brent. For us seniors Martin is still the best fit.

I don’t live in this riding, I’m from Alberta (insert redneck and/or cowboy hat joke here), I’m a Conservative but I’d rather see the NDP win this riding than the Liberals. I don’t see it happening, but the Liberals deserve the same thing that happened to the Tories in 1993, the proverbial electoral trip to the woodshed for a whooping.
