I hope the voters of this riding remember the record of the Liberal Party for the last twelve years, the billions of dollars that were either wasted on the gun registry or unaccounted for like the billion from Jane Stewart’s ministry and the Adscam quarter billion. Paul Martin is desperate and so is the Liberal Party. Vote for change. Go John Sprovieri and the C.P.C.

I want to respond to Vince’s Comments. I am an Italian Canadian who lives in Bramalea Gore Malton. Gurbax is great MP that serves constituents of all walks. John is desparate and trying to divide this riding and community for his selfish motives to win this seat. We all know John’s credibility in the media and community. Globe and Mail titled him as a ‘Cut and Paste Politician’on Jan.4,06. Please see the following link at http://www.robcottingham.ca/20060104/the-cut-and-paste-politician-john-sprovieri to see this article. As a regional councillor John has done a very poor job. John expensed $500 a month car allowance from City of Brampton at Tax Payer’s expense while being a federal Conservative candidate. Who can forget Mike Harris in Onatrio ??? Who can forget Brian Mulroney ?? Please be beware of Harper’s hidden agenda. Vince said time for change. Change for what ?? Disaster ?? Why change something that works.

In reply to Peter Sabia, I am a CANADIAN, not an Italian Canadian, not an Indian Canadian, not an English Canadian.I have not Brian Mulroney like I will not forget Jean Chretien and his promise to get rid of the GST, and I will not forget Mr.Smitherman and his P3 hospitals and I will not forget Gurbax and his TPR’s. Let he who has no sin cast the first stone.http://www.diversitywatch.ryerson.ca/media/cache/kabbadi_globe_mar10.htm

Vince,
I am a proud Mainstream Canadian. How can we all forget Mike Harris (Conservative Government Scandal) with Ontario Voters. Selling Skydome for $25 Million, Selling 407ETR for pennies biggest deception with Tax Payers.. Wasn’t that a scandal ???? Your attached link clearly indicates that RCMP found no wrong doing with accusations of Kabadi(What ever you call it). Wake Up Vince. Have constructive discussion. What does John has got show to his constituents. John does not even know if he is woman or man ???

I usually vote for a candidate not party. My choice is Mr. Malhi as he is honest man with high ethical and moral standards. I dealt with Mr. Malhi while I was a engineering students at U of T concerning various issues. He had been very instrumental. I know who I am votiing for……

Comment/commentaire by RS 01.16.06 @ 5:33 am

I also Believe Mr Malhi Will take this riding again. As his work done in last 12 year for riding and his voters very hard and honestly. He stand with them all time. Even on Same sex issue he voted against the bill and what voters in his area wants. Iam pretty shore the voters of this riding is going to send their voice through Mr Malhi in next Parliament.

thanks

I was very impressed by Mr. Malhi when I went to his office 2 months ago seen 50 people sitting to see him on Friday. I was on an immigration matter pertaining to my spouse. His office acted promptly and got me response from Canadian Immigration and addressed my matter. I wish Mr. Malhi great luck and success. That is the type of MP every Canadian should be proud of..

Conservative platform states extensive Tax Cuts. By cutting taxes, How would they be able to reduce waiting times in hospitals ? How would they be able to hire nurses ? How would they be able to fund education ? It just does not make sense..

Comment/commentaire by Jason Collins 01.17.06 @ 8:06 am

An individual by the name of Bill posted this at cbc.ca web site,”I went to John Sprovieri’s page and noticed that he doesn’t even have the right map for his riding. Springdale is not a part of Bramalea-Gore-Malton. Check this out: http://www.johnsprovieri.com/riding.htm” That just show how ‘Cut and Paste’ politician first palagrized web page from Nina Grewal’s web site where he stated he is a woman. Now the riding map is incorrect. What next ? Is that the kind of representation we want in Ottawa ??

Comment/commentaire by Vincent Ho 01.17.06 @ 8:14 am

Jason, you have nothing to worry about , after all Dalton will take care of our education and our hospitals, isn’t that what he promised? isn’t that why we’re paying up to $900 health premium per year? Remember what Mr.M said that there’s a surplus(meaning OUR money)of 29 billion dollars from the E.I. maybe Harper will use that.

Vincent, wouldn’t you rather your representative make a mistake in a riding map than a $2,000,000,000 mistake in a useless gun registry? PS it’s p-l-a-g-i-a-r-i-z-e-d.

Comment/commentaire by vince collins 01.17.06 @ 4:13 pm

Plagiarized ethics. No need to have any of your own. Borrow at will.

I live in the riding of Brampton-Springdale but I have voted for Malhi 3 times in the past elections.

I voted for Cons this time around but I feel Malhi is the right person in Bramalea-Gore-Malton. Voting on ethics and not antics.

Comment/commentaire by Bill 01.17.06 @ 7:22 pm

Vince,
How many mistake would you allow Vince ?? First ‘Cut and Paste’ politician palarizes Nina’s web page. Now wrong riding map. This is just reflection of poor leader….Sure Dalton is trying to clean up the mess left by your conservatives . He inherited the mess.. Ontario and Canada does not need any more deficits…..

Comment/commentaire by Vincent Ho 01.17.06 @ 7:29 pm

(edited) The mess left by the conservatives? Dalton is going to fix it? Sorbara said that the cons. left a deficit of 8.6 billion, then gradually it went down and Sorbara stepped aside and is being investigated by the RCMP FOR POSSIBLE FRAUD so much for ethics. Dalton said that he’ll get rid of P3 hospitals. what happened? we got a P3 hospital leased instead of mortgaged or the other way round, so much for doing what you say.

Comment/commentaire by vince collins 01.18.06 @ 5:40 pm

Dear Voters,

1. The Liberal sponsorship scandal and other issues that the Conservatives raise are regrettable but the amount of damage still hovers around 100 million dollars. Let’s look at our past to compare the order of magnitude of the damage caused by the Conservative alternative.
2. In 1984 the Conservatives assumed power in Ottawa. They promised a balanced budget and lower taxes. Indeed, the rich enjoyed a huge $200,000 Capital Gains Tax Exemption . However, by 1993 the Federal budgetary deficit doubled, and Canadians were taxed like never before. Not only did they pay the GST but paid a double level of Surtax with personal income tax.
3. Conservatives always look sweet at the beginning but leave a huge bill to pay for the Liberals. In the United States, Ronald Reagan’s deficit was eliminated by Bill Clinton only. In Canada Michael Wilson’s and Don Mazankowski’s legacy was left for Paul Martin to handle.
4. In 1993 Canada ran a $45 billion budgetary deficit and was on the brink of bankruptcy. The newly elected Liberal Government promised to balance the books and lower taxes. Prime Minister Jean Chretien assigned this formidable task to Finance Minister Paul Martin who vowed to do it be it ‘hell or high water’.
5. By 1998, Canada had balanced the budget and by 2005 enjoyed a considerable budgetary surplus despite a huge reduction in personal income tax rates. Personal Exemption increased to benefit all taxpayers equally. Canada has reduced the size of her national debt and is the only G-7 (G-8) country to boast consecutive budgetary surpluses in parallel with investing in the public, universal Medicare. Federal Money could also help Ontario rebuild its Power Sector in a manner consistent with the Kyoto Protocols. Today Canada is an envy of the world.
6. In 1995 the PC Government of Ontario promised to balance the budget by the end of their term while reducing taxes. The Conservatives also promised lower electricity rates as a result of ‘deregulation’ and ‘electricity market’. The publicly funded, privately built and operated 407 Toll Road was hailed as an example of successful Public-Private Partnership. Shortly before the elections of 2003, the Ontario budget was proclaimed to be balanced.
7. Historically, Ontario has always exported a huge amount of electric power, mostly to the United States. By 1997, the Conservatives shut down almost half of Ontario’s fully operational nuclear generating capacity (3,600 MW approx.). In 2002, within two months of ‘electricity market opening, power rates rose by 100% and were capped for small users. On August 14th, 2003 Ontario was importing 10% of its peak demand from the State of New York and the loss of supply routes caused the complete collapse of Ontario’s electricity system and the Big Blackout. By the end of 2003 Ontario paid $5 billion for importing electricity, mostly from the United States. Their supposedly ‘balanced budget’ had a $6 billion deficit, and there was not enough generation to support Ontario’s electrical energy needs. Expressway #407 was secretly sold to private owners below its value.
8. Ontario Conservatives are not a ‘different breed’ than Stephen Harper’s Party. John Baird, MPP was the Ontario Conservative Energy Minister at the time of the Big Blackout. He is now running for Federal Tories in Nepean-Ottawa West. Jim Flaherty is running for the Conservatives in Whitby, Ont. If you liked Mike Harris, you’d love Stephen Harper! (who was quite unhappy that we did not go to Iraq in 2003!) Today, Canada has ZERO casualties in Iraq and the United States 2,200+ and counting…
9. Do you want Public-Private Partnerships like Highway #407 to happen in Medicare?

Before you cast your ballot ‘for a change’ in government think twice what kind of change you want!

(images: smiling Mike Harris - smiling Stephen Harper, Mulroney promising lower taxes,
John Baird screaming in Ontario Legislature

vs. Paul Martin in the House of Commons promising to eliminate deficit be it hell or high water!)

Mr.Collins,

If supporters of Mr. John Spovieri are of your ilk, I want no part of it - “Birds of a feather flock together”.

Mr. Malhi has represented this riding well, so far, and deserves to be relected. His name has never been connected with any of the “scandals” you mentioned, and so, based on your comments, and Mr. Malhi’s fine representation of this riding, on Mon Jan 23, 2006, I will be voting for Mr. Gurbax Malhi.

Thank you Mr. Vince Collins for convincing me to vote for Mr. Malhi.

Judy

Comment/commentaire by Judy Correa 01.18.06 @ 11:06 pm

(edited) minister sorbara said 6.2 billion was the deficit that the provincial liberals inherited from your beloved mike harris. that has been cut in half by the way and will in all likelyhood be gone by 2007…and finally if you are worried about private health care do you think a vote for the conservatives is a good idea?

Comment/commentaire by TS 01.19.06 @ 9:04 am

(edited) If you like being taken for a ride by the liberals then go ahead and vote for them. TS,I do not know what is going to happen when Harper becomes PM but if the PC’do what the Liberals did then they will not get my vote next time, that’s how I do things. Mr. Mahli might be a saint for all I know but it’s the liberal government I’m voting against.
Mr. Kulczynski, this could be a co-incidence but I read that same stuff you posted on another site only it was a female Kulczynski. You know and I know that the only reason the ditherer got rid of the deficit is because we’re one of the most taxed nations in the world.

CANADIANS HAVE REALISED…. THE TIDE IS CHANGING, WE ARE WINNING

VOTE LIBERAL - VOTE MARTIN - VOTE FOR YOUR FREEDOM, PEACE, SAFETY AND PROSPERITY

1 When was the last time a CEO was removed for running a successful corporation? Mr. Paul Martin and his talented ministers managed the Society and the Economy so well that we are politically, socially and economically a stable nation.

2 Why not run a TV informatial comparing Mr.Paul Martin and his Board directors (ministers) to a successful corporation such as GE or Microsoft.

3 Because Mr.Paul Martin and his team operated the affairs of the country so well for the last 13 years, is it imperative that we re-elect them.

4 When was the last time a corporation consecutively and continuously operated with surplus (profit). Mr. Paul Martin and his team did that for 13 years, which is an excellent record. Why would anyone want to remove a successful CEO and the board of directors?

5 The only reason any one could think of changing the government is to loot all the savings. We see the parallel in corporations where “Raiders” take over to profit by breaking up the entity. Mr. Paul Martin is a sincere man he wants to build this country.

6 Mr. Paul Martin is a Good natured, Honest and Sincere, Reliable and Responsible, Trustworthy gentleman. He will work diligently, energetically, enthusiastically perseveringly and dedicatedly for the good of the citizens of Canada. He is a philosopher prime minister.

7 Mr. Paul Martin is respected internationally; Liberals have very good international and national policies. Canada enjoys excellent reputation worldwide. Because of Mr. Paul Martin and The Liberals, Canadians are living in peace in Canada and worldwide.

8 Economy is doing just fine, Unemployment virtually does not exist, Interest rates at all time low, Housing is affordable, No deficit, Debt is been paid down and Dollar is at 0.86cts.

9 The Total Net Worth of the country has appreciated by 15% in the last several years, because the dollar has gone from $0.75 to $0.86cts. All payments are current, No long-term debt. Does not it remind you of Sparta?

10 Mr. Paul Martin endorsed Kiyoto agreement on environment. He not only signed but also organized an international environment conference in Montreal.

11. Mr. Paul Martin is a proven manager of the economy;

He knows exactly how to manage a world-class

economy in the world economy.

WHY CHANGE THE GOVERNMENT WHEN IT IS DOING EXTREMELY WELL ECONOMICALLY, POLITICALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY?

FOLKS IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE GET OUT AND WORK WITH 110% EFFCIENCY TO RE-ELECT Mr. PAUL MARTIN AND HIS TALENTED TEAM.

THINK and think again and ACT WISELY

About the infomercial, it is on , Jane Stewart is going to tell us how to misplace $1,000,000,000 and Alan Rock is going to tell us how something that was going to cost $200,000,000 ended up costing us $2,200,000,000. That’s after Paul the Ditherer, assisted by John sorry Jean Chretien tells us how $250,000,000 of our money ended up in their party’s and their friends pockets.Bringing up the rear will be McGuinty who will tell us that $900 health premium is not a tax and that he’s not a liar. Sorbara and Sgro will be producing it, and it’s going to be financed by friends of Ralph Goodale from the proceeds of the income funds. Brilliant idea Nancy.

Ladies and Gentlemen, lets get some facts straight for once.

GST: Federal and Provincial sales tax amounting to 17%, formerly a hidden tax that we all payed before we had even heard of GST. Subsequently reduced to 15% by the Conservative Government who also brought it into the open.

Dalton: Provincial politician NOT Federal, last time I looked we are having a Federal election therefore anything to do with him or his Government is wasting your comment space.

Gun Registry: A generally good idea that beaurocrats messed up and made rather expensive. In 50% of gun related crime the weapon is stolen from law abiding citizens. This, if it ever gets working, will help Police Officers track weapons through whatever crime was commited with them and help catch the criminal responsible.

Jean Chretien: Former PM who kept us out of Iraq, a good thing. Also responsible for the Sea King replacement debacle that saw our Navy and Search and Rescue Teams working with problematic equipment that put peoples lives at risk while trying to save lives. Promised to get rid of the GST and yet never did.

Sponsorship Scandal: Paul Martin was cleared of any wrong doing by Justice Gomery. Others no longer in Government, have not.

Mr. Malhi: Federal politician who was elected over 12 years ago and has not risen above the level of a parliamentary secretary.

Steven Harper: Leader of the Reform/Conservative party whose roots are believed to come from the religious right out west. There is no direct proof of this but it has people wondering in this day and age of Religious Fanatacism around the world.

Cut and Paste and Parachuted Politicians: Every Party has them especially if the cut and paste ones have not been elected to a term in Federal or Provincial office yet. Municipal doesn’t count in my opinion.

The Dollar: Every point it goes up makes it that much harder to pay off The countries Debt. It also reduces the number of companies that want to come to Canada as it is now more expensive than before.

Kyoto Agreement: Not enough study was done on it before it was signed by the former Liberal Government. If we got all the cars and trucks off the road there is a possibility that we could still not reach our reqired reduction level of greenhouse gasses.

407 ETR: The selling of the ETR means that there will be a reduction in the beaurocray behind it thereby reducing the cost of it while the Government will still collect Corporate taxes from it.

Here is the latest from an editorial in the reputable local weekly ‘Mississauga News’:
In Bramalea-Gore-Malton, Liberal Gurbax Malhi has benefitted from Conservative opponent John Sprovieri’s downward spiral in popularity and his less-than-stellar record as a Brampton councillor. In his own right, however, Malhi enjoys a reputation for solid constituency work and has managed to avoid being associated with any of the Liberal’s scandals.

Thanks to all voters of this riding to re- elect Mr. Malhi to serve this riding again.
Thanks.

I am glad to see how voters of this riding gave another chance to a hard working MP that has done fine job for this riding. John who tried to divide this riding by making unfounded statements that Malhi does not represent ‘Main Stream Canadians’ was sad. This riding does not need politicians like John. I hope he does not win his city council position next election.

Comment/commentaire by John Bowrey 01.27.06 @ 5:09 pm

Well mlahi was going to win. He actually walks around the neighbourhood after elections talking to people. Also he has helped many people with immigration problems. Also the Indian community suports him 100%. Also if you ask him to come to an event he will come. He has come to my house about 3 times outside of elections. Twice for events and once he was just walking around.

He is a good MP who could keep going and going for years.

Comment/commentaire by mandeep 01.29.06 @ 3:50 pm

I am glad John did not win. He is an incompetent Regional councillor who has done nothing for the Ward 9 and 10. In upcoming city election I will canvass hard to defeat him.
