Your better get your boots on the ground in this riding!

You are missing a link to http://www.grantrobertson.ca If you spent time in the riding you would see the real challenge to the Liberals is coming from our campaign. We’re sure you wouldn’t want the link missed with that happening.

Steckle may be popularm but won’t be able to withstand the current trends in rural Ontario.

Grant Robertson is eroding Liberal support with his strong stance on the issues(farming, scandal, corruption). He is a seasoned campaigner who seems to have increasd his core vote. Ben Lobb is taking some right of centre voters from the Steckle fold. Personal property signage is decidedly Lobb, far ahead in most of the riding. Mr. Steckle made it public knowledge that we did not need/ want a winter election and that his signs would not be prominently displayed (too distracting to motorists). I guess you can do that with a 10000 vote margine in 2004. Interesting to note that this ridings combined Canadian Alliance and P.C. vote from 2000 would have defeated the Liberals in 2004. Steckle is one strong candidate.
If Robertson can get 2200-2800 more votes, Lobb will take the riding.

Time to elect Ben Lobb
The government has been overtaxing for years and lying about it hence the approximately 8 billion dollar error in their estimated surplus…and it is time to have the tax payer retain a bit more of his earning rather than lending it to the government. Yes indeed it is better to run a surplus than the other way around and of course is is nice to pay down the debt which is looked after by some of this excess surplus however we are now in pretty good shape economically and could slow down a bit with respect to debt reduction. The liberals have not been too , too bad with respect to money management however keep in mind that it was the policies ie GST and freetrade which allowed them to have the very positive revenues in the first place. These very policies they fought so strongly against when in opposition yet firmly embraced when they got in power.
Other than for their handling of the finances their record in government has been atrocious and hampered by the proven corruptness and their unprincipled efforts to remain in power at all cost.
At any rate it is going to be a Tory government and a like minded mp in the riding will only help get local matters looked after.
For the love of Canada vote Conservative

Alright you Huron People, let’s think this one out. We’re too smart in Huron East to vote for a Conservative government. Stephen Harper is as corrupt as Ralph Klein and as uncaring as Mike Harris.

Vote strategically, In this riding, vote for Paul. He’s proven himself quite capable. More importantly he’s the best chance at defeating Ben.

P.S The Consevative have spent more money then they need to in the past. The Consevative say they will give TAX CUTS….but how do they plan on that…The only way is when you cut taxes is to cut back in other programs like Health Care and Education. I would perfer to pay taxes then to have cuts in Health care and Education……..Why is none of the leader’s doing anything about high gas cost????

Comment/commentaire by Gilbert 01.17.06 @ 8:22 pm

Gilbert you are full of sh..! What a pile of spin. Let me guess you are a liberal. Ralph Klein is the best premier this country has ever had. Don’t be so obviously jealous just because your province hasn’t got a clue when we are being run by a dictatorship. The liberals are destroying this country. Vote Conservative. Stand up for Canada! I am from Ontario and there are more “rednecks” in small town Ontario than the rest of the country. Believe me I have lived in four provinces. Stand up for Canada. Get an honest government

Comment/commentaire by jay 01.18.06 @ 10:46 am

Jay, How are the Conservates planning on cutting taxes and keeping the same Health Care and Education? You cut one you have to take away from somewhere. Good comment Gil. You most be a Conservative “Jay” you are all in yourself just like them.

Comment/commentaire by Dan 01.18.06 @ 7:47 pm

Thats Brilliant Gilbert…”Pauls quite capable?”…..capable of what? sitting in the oppositon back benches doing nothing except sending out calanders for Huron Bruce. Paul should have hung up his Liberal boots long ago and if anyone had a reason to cross the floor it was him….now he’s fair game…it time for change, time for someone else to give it a try.

Comment/commentaire by Michael 01.18.06 @ 8:44 pm

I agree it’s time for new blood. But sending someone who can only read from the policy book like Mr. Lobb will not be good for the riding. I saw him at a couple of all-candidates meetings and as soon as the question got outside the prepared ones, he was floundering.
At this critical point in rural Canada with the farm income crisis and health care issues and so many others we NEED someone like Grant Robertson who is going to fight day in and day out. Not someone like Mr. Lobb who will be sent to the backbenches and told to sit down and shut up and then actually do it.
With some more experience Mr. Lobb might be pretty good in the future, but right now he is untested inleadership roles. In this election there are only two potential MPs, one is on the way out and the other is Grant Robertson. It is as simple as that.

As for voting strategically, I’m not sure Steckle hasn’t slipped to third.
This former Liberal voter will be voting Grant Robertson because I want a strong, independent voice and becuase I do not want the Conservatives to go unchecked.

With 22 billion in tax cuts, and a whack of spending promises, something doesn’t quite add up. In fact, something spells defecit. Remember the Mulroney years? Besides, even if Harper actually did give the middle class a tax break, which he will not (maybe if you make under 16000 a year you’ll actually save a whopping 64 dollars!), where would the money come from? Tax cuts = user fees. Why not vote for a party that spends your taxes wisely, and thinks of future generations and the fact that they also deserve to live a good life in a Canada that has protected its institutions and its natural environment for their well being.

Any voter who votes for Stephen Harper has a hole in their. In the face of everything Harper has ever publicly said about his desire to scrap the Canada Health Act, everyone suddenly thinks the leopard has changed his spots, as if he’s had some sort of great awakening and re-dedicated his life to social justice. With MPs like Rob Anders who’ve labelled Nelson Mandela a terrorist, and who’ve proclaimed a war on gays such as Rondo Thomas (soon hopefully not to be Minister of Holy Wars), and Stephen Harper himself who until four years ago was just another nutcase Alberta separatist wanting to build firewalls around his ever so rich and wonderful province. What the hell is wrong with people in this country. Yes, the Liberals have screwed up, big time, but thats not an excuse for fascism. Any votes for Stephen Harper are proof of the human capacity for complete stupidity and ignorance.

And speaking of stupidity and ignorance, whats with the Conservative platform on gay marriage. I’m getting married to a woman in the near future, but our wedding is not going to be a Christian one, does this mean that we too should be prevented from marrying? My point is the Conservatives and their war room full of gay bashing bigots clearly think that all Canadians should follow the guidelines set out by the bible. As long as your church’s rights to marry whom it pleases are protected, then what does he care who marries who?

Child care: how the heck is 25 dollars a week going to buy child care? And even though parents are probably better than to go out and buy beer and popcorn, they will in fact come to the realization that bills need to be paid, food needs to be put on the table, and should the conservatives get in, user fees for previously taken for granted government services will all take precedence over day care, afterall, we can stick little Junior with grandma for one more day…Wouldn’t it be alot easier for parents to have a program there and ready for them so they can concentrate on the bills, and hopefully not the user fees.

Look at the environmental policies of Stephen Harper and the Reformatories. Oh wait, thats right, there are none. Is kyoto perfect? Heck no, but its the only thing we have right now. Is the science flawed? No, I implore any of you to find one single serious scientist to resist the science behind Kyoto, possibly the most peer reviewed piece of science ever. Time after time after time, the scientists who have fought Kyoto have been discovered to have been paid by the oil industry themselves. Kyoto has the possibility to create a lot of jobs in the technology sector, which would mean the possibility we could be a real exporter in the high tech world…if Canada got off its arse and started to do something, the Liberals and the Conservatives will both fail to do the aggressive things needed to ensure the sustainability of our economy, our health care, and our environment. Mr Lobb’s American education in the “science” of business administration should indicate where his priorities lie, big business, not the average Joe. Big business tax cuts are not going to help any of us. Small business programs built from real entrepreneurship on the other hand, will. Vote for Grant Robertson, and please save us all.

Hi, I am from Albrta and used to live in Huron. I am always been a small c-conservative but voted for Steckley and would do so again any day. He is a good guy. As for your comment about Klein, you are so far from the truth and it is comments like that coming from Martin and you Gilbert that do not help your Liberal cause nor the Canadian image.

Comment/commentaire by Eugene Asnong 01.19.06 @ 3:24 pm

It would be nice to see this riding go back to Conservatives.

Comment/commentaire by Grammaton 01.19.06 @ 8:30 pm

A strategic vote for Paul Steckle? Are you serious? Why do you think Steckle does so well? It’s because Steckle is a conservative running under a Liberal banner.
